Dutch multiband auction raises EUR 1.23bn

The auction of spectrum in the 700, 1400 and 2100 MHz bands in the Netherlands has finished with the three established MNOs (KPN, T-Mobile and Vodafone Ziggo) sharing the available frequencies. The auction ran over 90 rounds, with prices increasing most strongly for spectrum in the 1400 MHz band.

DotEcon supported Agentschap Telecom (AT) in the design and the implementation of the process, which used a SMRA-Clock-Hybrid format for the assignment of bandwidth followed by a second price sealed bid for the assignment of specific frequencies. More information is available on AT’s web site. AT has also published the full bid data.
