Today, Austrian telecoms regulator RTR has published the documentation for the award of spectrum in the 700, 1500 and 2100 MHz band scheduled to take place in April 2020. A key objective of the award is to improve coverage in Austria and it will offer winners of spectrum to bid for reductions in their auction fees in exchange for taking on additional coverage obligations. The spectrum auction itself will use an SMRA-Clock hybrid design. Details are available on RTR’s website.
