BAKOM, the Swiss telecommunications regulator, is currently reviewing applications for participation in the upcoming auction of spectrum in the 800MHz, 900MHz, 1.8GHz, 2.1GHz and 2.6GHz bands. The deadline for the submission of applications was 30 September 2011.
According to the revised timetable, the auction is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of next year. The auction will follow a combinatorial clock auction (CCA) format with restrictions on the assignment options generated for the 900MHz and 1.8GHz bands to take into account the distribution of preferred channels for GSM in these bands.
