DotEcon has been awarded a contract by Ofcom to provide auction design advice for the UK award of up to 190MHz of spectrum in the 2.3GHz and 3.4GHz bands. This spectrum, previously assigned for use by the Ministry of Defence, is set to be the first significant reallocation of spectrum from public to private users, and will make a substantial contribution to the Government’s target to free up 500MHz of public spectrum for use by the private sector by 2020.
