DotEcon, along with consultancy and research firm Analysys Mason, has been appointed by the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) to assist with the forthcoming award of spectrum in the 700 MHz, 900 MHz and 2300 MHz bands in Denmark. The award is expected to be conducted via one or more auctions.
DotEcon and Analysys Mason will conduct an analysis of current market conditions, provide advice on coverage obligations to be attached to the licences and the most appropriate auction design, and will assist with the preparation of the award documentation as well as the implementation of the auction(s). Where necessary, in light of the auction format(s) chosen, DotEcon will provide software for running the auction(s) online.
A public consultation on the proposals for the award, followed by publication of the final auction documentation, is expected in the spring of 2018.
