On 2nd October the Rotterdam Court rejected the claims brought by Vodafone, KPN and T-Mobile against the design of the Dutch multi band auction. The claims were in particular directed against the spectrum reservation for a newcomer (2x10MHz in the 800MHz band) and the use of the combinatorial clock auction format, which allegedly created scope for strategic bidding and resulted in distorted outcomes.
The Court of Rotterdam has rejected both appeals in its ruling. More information can be found on the website of the Dutch judiciary.
DotEcon has been involved in the design of the auction and has assisted the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs in this case.
