India BWA auction finishes

The Indian BWA auction has finished after 16 days and 116 rounds. It raised Rs. 38,543 Crore (approximately $8.2bn) for the Indian state, including payments to be made by incumbents for set-aside spectrum linked to the auction outcome.

The Department of Telecommunications has announced provisional results, pending formal approval by the Indian Government.

Along with the 3G auction that finished last month the revenue exceeds RS 1.06 Lakh Crore (approximately $22.7bn).

DotEcon, together with N.M. Rothschild (India) advised the Indian government on the award process. The auction used a novel clock auction designed by DotEcon and implemented using DotEcon’s WebBidder auction platform.
