Luxembourg 5G auction finishes with four winners

The auction of spectrum in two core bands for the development of 5G services in Luxembourg has finished with four bidders securing securing. Orange and Post obtained 2×10MHz in the 700 MHz band and 110 MHz in the 3,600 MHz band. Proximus won 2×10 MHz of 700 MHz spectrum and 100 MHz in the 3,600 MHz band and Luxembourg Online secure 10 MHz in the 3600 MHz band. The auction, which used a SMRA-Clock-Hybrid format, raised a total of EUR 41 million.

This is the first time that spectrum has been awarded in Luxembourg through an auction as the interest expressed in the frequencies exceeded the available spectrum.

DotEcon supported the Institut Luxembourgeois de Régulation (ILR) in the design and implementation of the spectrum award.
