On 10 December, Agentschap Telecom hosted a mock auction for prospective bidders in the auction of spectrum in the 2.6GHz band using using DotEcon’s WebBidder auction platform. The Netherlands has adopted a flexible band plan for the 2.6GHz band, allowing for market determination of the split of paired and unpaired spectrum within the award process. This auction will be implemented using the combinatorial clock auction format, originally developed by DotEcon and already used by Ofcom in the UK for a number of spectrum awards.
