The Norwegian Post and Telecommunications Authority (NPT) has launched a consultation on details of the forthcoming multi-band auction of spectrum in the 800MHz, 900MHz and 1800MHz bands. The consultation covers proposed auction rules and spectrum licence conditions. It is open until 30 Sep 2013. Consultation documents may be found here.
In addition, decisions of the Ministry of Transport and Communications on the overall auction framework were announced in the auction rules document. These decisions are final not open to consultation, and cover lot packaging, the auction format, coverage obligations associated with 800MHz spectrum, spectrum caps, licence durations and frequency reassignment of existing 900MHz and 1800MHz licences as part of the multi-band auction process.
The Ministry will also decide on suitable reserve prices for the multi-band auction in due course. Reserve prices will be announced on NPT’s website.
