Ofcom have published a report by Mason Communications and DotEcon investigating the value of ultra-wideband (UWB) to the United Kingdom. The study provides a cost-benefit analysis of the impact of various policy options for introducing unlicensed UWB in the 3-10GHz spectrum bands. Both the advantages to UK consumers of allowing UWB applications and the disadvantages of increased interference to existing radio spectrum users were included in the study. The DotEcon team used a hedonic pricing approach to estimate the potential benefits to consumers from UWB. You can download a copy of the full report here.
