This presentation considers the issues around competition and regulatory acquis of the new Member States following the 5th enlargement of the union. It highlights in particular the extent of acquis, transitional arrangements, development of the regulated markets and administrative capacities of the authorities concerned. It was given by Taseem Azad, a former national Expert with DG Enlargement, at the 14th Annual Continued Legal Education for European (and American) Lawyers Fair hosted by Herbert Smith.
