Public consultation for the Danish award of spectrum in the 700 MHz, 900 MHz and 2300 MHz bands

The Danish Energy Agency has launched a consultation (including a draft Information Memorandum) for the auction of spectrum licences in the 700 MHz, 900 MHz and 2300 MHz bands. The Agency proposes to use a multi-stage auction process for the assignment of spectrum and coverage obligations, combining the award of spectrum in the lower frequency bands tied to a basic coverage obligation, a Combinatorial Multi-Round Auction (CMRA) for the award of the remaining frequencies, a second price sealed bid for the assignment of specific frequencies, and a non-combinatorial sealed bid auction in which winners of spectrum can bid for additional coverage obligations in exchange for a reduction in the price they have to pay.

DotEcon is advising the Danish Energy Agency in the design and implementation of this auction.
