Strategic Review on Non-Geographic Numbers in Ireland: A report for ComReg

The Irish telecommunications regulator ComReg commissioned DotEcon to conduct a review on Non-Geographic Numbers in Ireland, following concerns about transparency and user understanding of prices and the usage of these numbers.

This report presents our findings based on our analysis of the market dynamics, including the mapping of revenue flows between all parties in the value chain and an assessment of the scope for consumer harm. Our draws on information gathered from a large data request to telecoms operators and surveys of consumers and organisations in Ireland. We provide recommendations on potential remedies ComReg could implement to address the issues identified.

The DotEcon report provides the basis for a public consultation and is available here or from the ComReg website  alongside the consultation documents.
